Freed, Released from the law and bound to christ.

I actually have the fear of writing. So I thought this is going to overcome it. But my motive for writing is not just to overcome the fear of writing but I have so much to say!

So I wont be starting with Oh what a lovely Autumn day it is etc.

Ill start with Jesus. That is where I began my day. I dropped Faith to school and stopped for coffee, sat there for a few  minutes and began to worship God. Read my bible. I went to my browser and it had romans 8-9 by default and I went back a chapter to 7. I actually walked out of the house thinking i would open my bible at any page and read. But since I had no bible the browser did that for me. Or was it God. So I sat there reading.

Romans 7

Freed from the Law

7 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? ² For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. ³ So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. ⁴ Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. ⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. ⁶ But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

I remembered I was talking to this guy I liked and after a while he told me his mom was against our relationship because “while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress;” I knew my Jesus loved me at that time.. because of the scripture of the adulteress woman. the stone casting story. Jesus addresses her as DAUGHTER. thank God for Jesus right.

So God showed me what this scripture begins with.

So who has dominion over us? the law? or christ? freed from the law. it also reminded me of a sermon Pastor Carl Lentz talked about. where he says God is about the story not the headline. You see you can pick a scripture like “while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress;” throw it at someone. But then today praise God, I can see that we are freed from the law and bound to christ. – NIV. another bible just said free from the law. But we are freed from the law and bound to christ. But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by. There is no condemnation in christ.
